Started the day by visiting Lotus Flower Silk Farm. Where we learned about making silk from the lotus flower - see the fibres in the stem.

Women take these and lay them out on a board.

Then roll them into a thread.

The threads are then spun into spools.

Finally the spools are used to weave fabric.

Lotus flowers are also dried to use in tea.

The plant matter can be used to make paper and leather.

And the seeds can be used to make a famous Chinese moon cake and jewelry.

Next we went to House of Strays, a pet sanctuary that rescues dogs and cats from around Siem Reap who are sick, injured or both.
