Up at 3:50AM to join a sunrise tour of Angkor Watt with our friends from Kampot and Koh Rong.

Managed to snap a touristless pic before it officially opened by sneaking juuuuust past the barrier ๐Ÿ˜†.

Wandered around Angkor watt enjoying the carvings and architecture.

Nice view from the top.

Next we went to Bayon temple which is famous for the 54 heads carved into it's columns.

Group picture of our friends (had to edit out a random person who decided to join in on the right ๐Ÿ˜†).

Monkey riding a scooter.

Next we visited Ta Phrom temple which is famous for the amazing trees growing throughout the temple - it was also where Tomb Raider was filmed in 2004 with Angelina Jolie.

The tree roots are otherworldly.

Finally we visited Bantey Kdei temple which has had very limited restoration and is in untouched condition.

After all the walking and early start, we just chilled around our hotel pool for the afternoon. Then went out for some street food at the night market for dinner.

(He ate all our bones after ๐Ÿ˜†)

I also tried some of the more local delicacies - scorpion and snake!

Main reason that Cambodians eat these type of animals is because they were given such little food during the Pol Pot regime that they were forced to turn to the wildlife for nourishment.
